PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for computing the amount of stored electricity, capable of selecting a method for computing the amount of electricity stored which is suitable for the state of a measured value from a battery. PSOLUTION: A current range of changes in the amount of stored electricity and the determination time of changes in the amount of stored electricity are used to determine whether an acquired battery current value 2002 is stable in an electric storage device. When the battery current value 2002 is stable, SOC is selected by a DC-R computation method. When the battery current value 2002 is not stable, SOC is selected by a current integration computation method.
