PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nanocomposite material, and to provide a clay-novolak epoxy resin composite material.;SOLUTION: This clay-novolak epoxy resin composite material contains a novolak epoxy resin and modified-type layered clay which is uniformly dispersed in the novolak epoxy resin. The modified-type layered clay is intercalated with two of modifying agents comprising an imidazole compound and a quaternary ammonium salt.
