PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual face model deformed into a certain expression with efficiency and high accuracy. PSOLUTION: A virtual face model deformation apparatus for deforming the expression of a virtual face model to match the expression of a subject's face photographed has an input unit for inputting information on the positions of a plurality of preset feature points from the subject's face; a deformation estimating unit for estimating, using expression deformation data obtained from a plurality of previously stored face images for learning, deformation data corresponding to the information on the positions of the plurality of feature points input by the input unit; and a deforming unit for combining the deformation data estimated by the deformation estimating unit with a virtual face model selected from a set of a plurality of preset virtual face models, and deforming the expression of the virtual face model.
