PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide type biochemical sensor chip capable of widening an allowed incident angle range, while keeping high sensitivity, and inhibiting decay of light intensity in the optical waveguide.;SOLUTION: The optical waveguide type biochemical chip includes an optical waveguide layer of polymer resin material, a coupler for making light incident on the optical waveguide layer, a decoupler for making light translated through the optical waveguide layer exit, and a sensing membrane provided on the optical waveguide layer while generating a reaction product which has absorptivity to the light or to the evanescent wave of the light if an analyte is made to interact.
