PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide slave apparatus capable of easily switching a plurality of connection paths without interrupting the communication of a device network system regardless of whether a master apparatus has a connection switch command or not.;SOLUTION: The slave apparatus 10 to be connected to the device network 2 includes: four kinds of occupation word information, i.e., connections A, B, C, D in a nonvolatile memory; and two on/off switches in a switch 9. The four combinations of on/off of the two switches correspond to the four kinds of occupation word information, i.e., the connections A, B, C, D. When the master apparatus does not have the connection switch command, an operator sets the initial value of the occupation word information to the occupation word information of a position where the self apparatus is arranged so as to perform connection. When the master apparatus has the connection switch command, the connection is performed as it is so as to allow switching into the appropriate connection to be performed in communication between the master apparatus and the slave apparatus.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
