PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color information generating system which generates information that enables the search of the captured image based on color even when the color of the object is similar to the background color.SOLUTION: When detecting means 200 detects the object, extraction means 301 extracts an object from a color image captured by capturing means 100. Color information generation means 302 generates color information which includes object type information and captured date and time information of the color image and indicates the color according to the extraction result of the extraction means 301. Color information storage means 303 stores the color information generated by the color information generation means 302. Further, when the extraction means 301 extracts the object, the color information generation means 302 generates the color information that indicates the color of the object. When the extraction means 301 does not extract the object, the color information generation means 302 generates the color information that indicates the color of the background image which is a color image in a preset predetermined range.
