PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fused silica refractory having high corrosion resistance against a molten metal having strong reducing action.;SOLUTION: The fused siliceous refractory contains 95 to 99.99 wt.% fused silica and 0.01 to 5 wt.% iron oxide. The method of manufacturing the fused siliceous refractory includes: a slurry preparing process for preparing slurry containing a raw material solid portion composed of 95 to 99.99 wt.% fused silica powder and 0.01 to 5 wt.% iron oxide powder; a molding process for obtaining a molding from the slurry; and a firing process for firing the molding at 1,050 to 1,250°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
