PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encrypted data storage device and a data encryption device for reducing power consumption when performing data encryption in each medium unit of a storage device incapable of simultaneous execution of data reading and data writing.;SOLUTION: When encryption of unencrypted data in a backup storage 63 is requested by a backup server 62 via a switch 61, the unencrypted data are read out of the backup storage 63 by an encryption/decryption processing section 41 and sequentially stored in an unencrypted data storage section 44a. The stored unencrypted data are encrypted to generate encrypted data and temporarily stored in an encrypted data storage section 44b.
