Providing a mechanism and method for separating solids from a solid laden drilling mud (14), the method comprising the steps of introducing the solid laden drilling mud on a first side of a screen (13), the mud hole passing through the screen (13) and filter drilling mud located on the other side of the screen (13), characterized by the fact that an oscillating tray (18) is located in the drilling mud and spaced from the screen, the oscillating tray granting movement to the drilling mud to facilitate the filtering of said drilling mud loaded with solids on the screen (13).
