METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IDENTIFYING A MOBILE OBJECT, AND INSPECTING A MOBILE OBJECT BY RADIATION IMAGE FORMATION. Disclosed is a method for discriminating a type of moving object comprising the steps of: causing the moving object to be driven into the passageway; measure the speed of the moving object; emit light from one side of the passenger; receive light that is not blocked by the moving object on the other side of the passenger; detect the moving object profile based on the emitted light and measured speed of the moving object to detect at least part of the moving object profile; and a discrimination step comparing at least part of the profile with the predetermined stored information in order to determine the type of the moving object.
