APPLIANCES FOR THE TREATMENT OF A FLUID TO BE INJECTED IN AN UNDERGROUND FORMATION CONTAINING HYDROCARBONS, METHOD THAT TREAT THE FLUID TO BE INJECTED IN A UNDERGROUND FORMATION OF HYDROCARBONETES COMPOSITION, AND INJECTION OF A HYDROCARBONETTE, AND A SYSTEM OF INJECTION. An apparatus (10) for treating a fluid to be injected into an underground formation containing hydrocarbons, comprising a desalination system (12), having a fluid inlet (16) to receive the first supply fluid (18) and a first outlet fluid (22) to supply the first product fluid (20). The apparatus (10) also comprises a selective ion species removal facility (30), having a fluid inlet (36) to receive a second supply fluid (34) and a fluid outlet (40) to supply a second fluid product (38), where the second product fluid (38) has a preferred ionic concentration. A mixer (46) is provided to mix at least a part of the first product fluid (20) and at least a part of the second product fluid (38) to produce a third or product fluid for injection (48). Thus, the injection fluid can be created with a preferred ionic concentration suitable for injection into a well (28).
