System and method for measuring volume flow and the molar fraction of a mixture of gases. The present invention relates to a system that comprises a section of pipe (1) to be brought into a pipe to the inside of a gas mixture which flows in a pulsed regime.In the interior of that section of the tube (1) are installed sets of transmitters (9) and receivers (8) of radiation in the infrared, means of isolation between the latter and the flow itself, isolation valves, safety valves and pressure gauges. The collected data are electrically transmitted to a computer of the flow (5).A method associated with the system above is also disclosed.
