The present invention relates to a thermocol based microstrip printed layered antenna, said antenna comprising a bottom dielectric layer (2) having a first dielectric constant and a first height being provided with a bottom metallic ground plane (1); a middle dielectric layer (4) formed of thermocol having a second dielectric constant and a second height bonded to a top surface of the bottom dielectric layer (2); a printed radiating element sandwiched between the bottom dielectric layer and the middle dielectric layer(4); a top dielectric layer (6) having a first dielectric constant and a first height bonded to a top surface of the middle dielectric layer(4); and a printed parasitic element sandwiched between the middle dielectric layer (4) and the top dielectric layer (6); wherein the dimension of the printed parasitic element is equal to or greater than the dimension of the printed radiating element.
