Secure ATM transactions provide a foundation for the ATM industry. To maximize ATMs" effectiveness and profitability, card users must feel safe and the ATM"s vault must be secure from theft. Nowadays by swiping the card which we are having and by entering the password, we are accessing our bank account If the card misses, then there is a chance for misuse. To overcome this we are proposing a new innovative method in our project. In our project after swiping the card and entering the password, if the password matches with the card scanned number, then the ATM machine will send an alert message to the corresponding account holder through SMS to the user"s mobile phone. When the machine receives authentication message "Ok." from the respective account holder, it will allow for accessing the account by displaying the number and the message from which the authentication message is sent to machine in the LCD display. Incase if the authentication message "Ok." is not received, then the access will be stopped. And if the machine receives the authentication message "No.", then the transaction is denied with the Buzzer ring by displaying the number and the message from which the authentication message is sent to machine in the LCD display. And if the password is entered wrongly by the user, then the transaction will be denied by displaying "Not Correct" in the LCD display and wait for the next transaction to be held. To achieve this we are using GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) technology;. The Microcontroller which we are using is a mid range PIC Microcontroller "PIC16F877A". For scanning we are employing IR based sensor setup. PIC Microcontroller, GSM Modem and Card Scanner are the main hardware components used with software components such as C Compiler, ICPROG and MPLAB IDE.
