摘要

The present invention provides a method to assess the voltage stability margin at a given load bus of the system by deriving an equivalent single machine-infinite bus (SMIB) arrangement for the same. The method of the present invention comprises of the steps of determining the critical point voltage using equivalent SMIB, reproducing the same method for each load bus in the power system to yield the voltage stability margin for each, measuring the distance for reaching the voltage limit using the voltage stability margin at each load bus and identifying the buses that are more susceptible to collapse by ranking the margins of the load buses with the bus possessing the lowest margin on top.
