The pheromone synthesis is important in order to rigorously establish the structure of a new pheromone and also to provide a plenty of to carry out extensive biological tests. The mono ene molecules with reactive functional groups at the terminal positions are good synthones for the synthesis of pheromone and related compounds. This invention relates to a novel scaling up process of synthesizing Z-11- alcohol pheromones. The process involves "green chemistry" minimizing the use of solvents, involving better atom economy.
