The present invention discloses a system and method for switching a broadcasting mobile TV service to a streaming service, both of which allow a communication terminal to receive broadcasting TV content from a broadcasting network according to the service and/or content information in the service guide. The communication terminal obtains an RTSP linkage, in a streaming service field, corresponding to the service or content being received, and sends a streaming content obtaining request to the RTSP link. The system and the method provided by the present invention make it possible for the communication terminal to be switched from the broadcasting network to the streaming service platform due to abnormal reception of the broadcasting TV signal, when the communication terminal is receiving the broadcasting TV signal. Obviously, the quality of the playback can be improved effectively and thus the users are more satisfied.
