The present subject matter relates to a method for optimizing the braking of a hybrid electric/electric vehicle for improving the overall fuel efficiency of vehicle. The method comprising the steps as activating a pure electric regenerative braking P beyond the force threshold value W in response to the signals sensed by a hardware which is subsequently transmitted to an electronic control unit and subsequently applying a mixed braking M of hydraulic and electric regenerative braking on further increasing the brake pedal force. The invention discusses that the proportions of requirements of both types of braking in the mixed braking M are decided by the electronic control unit. REFER FIG. 1
