A GREENER PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF SULFONAMIDE CHALCONE DERIVATIVES AS POTENT ANTIFUNGAL AGENT

Sulfonamide chalcone derivatives are new class of compounds having antioxidative, antihypertensive, anti-allergic, anti-malerial, anti-leishmanial, anti-inflammatory, insecticidal, antimicrobial, and anti-tubercular and they effectively inhibit glucosidases which are the major targets in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes and HIV infection. In the present invention series of newer sulfonamide chalcone derivatives were prepared by easy simple greener method. The formed sulfonamide chalcone derivatives were tested for antifungal activity. The activity was observed against Aspergillus niger (MTCC 1789), Trichoderma viridae (MTCC 167), Penicillium chrysogenum (MTCC 160), Aspergillus flavus (MTCC 2510), Candida albicans (MTCC 183) and Fusarium moniliforme (MTCC 156) .They shown potent antifungal activity.
