The invention relates to fish breeding, in particular to a process for natural development of food supply of the fish ponds.The process includes introduction into the pond water of cobalt chloride and manganese chloride or potassium permanganate before stocking the pond with larvae or fry and after stocking with two-year or yearling fish at a rate of keeping in water of no more than 35…40 µg/L of cobalt and 35…40 µg/L of manganese.The result of the invention is to increase the biomass of phyto-and zooplankton.
