A novel system for treating the effluents resulting from the leather tanning industry and reducing the costs of the processed water and effluent discharge. An ecosystem is created, this fulfilling the requirement of being beneficial since it promotes the coexistence of amphibians, reptiles and birds. The impact on the environment caused by industrial discharges is reduced since artificial lagoons or wetlands are used.
