The invention consists in the addition of Pd (0.3-0.8% by weight) and Ni (NiO = 3.1% by weight) al Mo (MoO3 = 14.0% by weight) over alumina-titania (Mo/AT) sulphured catalysts. The addition of Pd and Ni over the No/AT catalysts has a positive effect which results in a sulphured catalyst approximately 8 folds more active for the HDS of the 4,6-DMDBT molecule, thus favouring the hydrogenation path (HYD) and promoting the elimination of S through a compound partially hydrogenated 4,6-TH-DMDBT in order to produce 3,3'-DM-CHB. In addition, an effect between Pd and Ni is performed over the Mo/At catalyst, which is higher when Pd is incorporated to NiMo/At catalysts than when Pd is incorporated to Mo/At catalysts.
