摘要

Method and device based on FPGA for detecting faults in squirrel cage induction motors by monitoring the vibration signals obtained through an instrumentation system. The invention is characterised in that it contains a processing unit embedded in a FPGA which has processors dedicated to specific tasks. Said tasks include, without being limited to, the average, variance, FFT, wavelet transform. The purpose of the invention is to provide a device for the analysis of time-frequency of vibration signals resulting from an induction motor. Said purpose requires the integration of different algorithms for analysing the signals in time and frequency, outstanding the inner architecture of the processing unit which allows a simultaneous processing of the input signals to be performed. In addition, the open architecture allows the invention to be easily integrated to other modules in a same encapsulate. Finally, due to the use of the FPGA technology, the device is highly reconfigurable, which a llows the analyser to be adjusted to the specific needs of the process.
