Disclosed is a wave power electrical power generation unit with a guiding collar that allows a wave driven float to be off axis from the generator centre-line. The wave-power unit comprises a floating body for floating on the sea and an electric linear generator having a stator and translator reciprocating along a centre axis. The stator is anchored to the seabed and the translator being connected to the floating body by a flexible cable. The wave-power unit includes a curved guiding device rigidly connected to the generator housing, where the cable passes through a lower opening and an upper opening of the guiding device. The portion of the cable momentarily being located between the openings is defined as the guided portion. The lower opening is arranged so that the guided portion adjacent the lower opening is aligned with said centre-line axis and the upper opening is arranged so that the guided portion adjacent the upper opening forms an angle with the centre axis.
