A computer-implemented method and a system for manipulating objects in a computer-generated scene are disclosed. The system comprises one or more processors and at least one memory in communication with the one or more processors configured to store instructions operational with the one or more processors to receive information specifying a first object in the computer-generated scene with the first object having a first set of elements forming a boundary and a second set of elements having at least one element located within the boundary; generate generalized barycentric coordinates with interior control in response to quantifying influence within the boundary of each element in the first and second set of elements; interpolate at least one value for at least one site located within the boundary based on the generalized barycentric coordinates with interior control; and store information associated with the at least one interpolated value.
