The equipment has radio identification tags arranged in a series along an access lane to a dock for vehicles. A mobile locating device i.e. chock (1), is placed in a determined position with respect to one of the vehicles brought to the dock. A processing unit deducts validation of the placement of the device in the position with respect to a predefined direction between two readers relative to an order of succession of the radio identification tags in the series, where the unit deducts the validation from radio identification tag and reader attribute information at an analysis system.
