The process is based on infiltration of melted metal (which after cooling represents the base) into pores of ceramic foam, which acts as hardening phase. The casting, dimensions of mould, preheating of ceramic foam or mould, casting temperature, the use of insulation lid and vibration enables the complete filling of pores with the melted metal. The gravitation casting is used. The process is characterised by vibrating of entire system during casting and hardening. The use of composite plates made with this process is in automobile, aircraft and military industry due to very high mechanical properties, high breakthrough resistance regarding specific weight and very difficult cut.
