METHOD FOR COMBINED ESOPHAGOGASTROPLASTY

A method for the combined esophagogastroplasty consists of the resection step and the recovery step. The resection step comprises gastrectomy, the resection of abdominal and thoracic divisions of the esophagus, and fashioning the intestinal graft from the terminal division of the ileum with vascular pedicle (arteria colica media). The recovery step comprises reconstruction of the esophagus with the intestinal graft at isoperistaltic position generating proximal and distal anastomoses. The surgery is performed from the combined abdomino-cervical access. At the resection step, the cervical division of the esophagus is also resected. For the intestinal graft, the right half of the large bowel and ileocecal segment are involved. At the recovery step, the artificial stomach is formed from colonic part of the graft.
