A method for weaning the patients from respirator following long-term artificial lung ventilation provides for the respiratory support. The mask is sealed to the face of the patient and the respirator is connected in the mode of the synchronous intermittent mandatory ventilation (SIMV) provided that the patient is not able for maintaining the rate of the respiratory movements or the continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or spontaneous respiration with pressure support (PS + spont.).
