METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFICACY OF ATORVASTATIN IN TREATING ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE WITH ANGINA PECTORIS AND ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION

A method for assessing the efficacy of Atorvastatin in treating the ischemic heart disease with angina pectoris and arterial hypertension provides for the comparison of the state of patient prior to and after the treatment. Prior to the treatment, the blood in a volume of 5 mL is sampled from the cubital vein at the state of the rest, and the rheologic properties are assessed by measuring the viscosity of the blood with the aid of the rotational viscosimeter under various shear forces from 0.020 to 8.8 dyn/cm. The same examination is performed after the course of the treatment. When the viscosity of the blood upon applying the shear force of 0.3 dyn/cmdecreases by 7.1 % as compared with that prior to the treatment, the hemorheologic and antianginal effects of the treatment are regarded as the positive.
