A method for heavy pulse current electrodynamic stability testing solid insulation includes supplying to the tested solid insulation heavy current from a test device high-voltage capacitor battery through a heavy-current switching device and heavy current massive metal current distributors. Heavy current from the test device high-voltage battery is supplied to the tested insulation using an explosive metal conductor which is placed to a through hole made into the solid insulation being tested and introduced into a discharged circuit of the test device high-voltage capacitor battery.
