Detecting an abnormal change in the component of a sample of hair in subjects suffering from breast cancer.

A method for detecting the presence of a removable component with acid produces a ring of X-ray scattering at small angles synchrotron (SAXS) in a hair sample taken from a subject to determine whether the subject has or non-breast cancer, comprising the steps of: a) exposing the hair sample to an organic acid so as to penetrate the hair sample, thereby producing a biological substance derived; b) obtaining data from the derived biological substance; c) comparing the data obtained from the derived biological substance with a second group of data contained in a reference database to identify the presence of acid extractable component producing a SAXS ring in the hair sample; thereby detecting the extractable component with acid produces a SAXS ring is consistent with a presence of breast cancer in the subject.
