The present invention relates to the use of a composition comprising an inhibitor of the protein mTOR, wherein said inhibitor is selected from among rapamycin, temsirolimus, everolimus or deforolimus. Moreover, the present invention relates to use of said inhibitors, and preferably rapamycin, for the production of a medicament for the treatment of the cognitive deficit associated with Down's syndrome.
