Procedure for determining the direction of arrival of at least one waveform (wa) radio, comprising the steps of: - receiving at least one waveform (wa) by M receiving elements (1, 2, 3, 4 , ...) where M is a natural number and M 1, and obtaining a detected signal (d1, d2, d3, d4 ...) at the output of each of the M receiving elements (1, 2, 3 , 4...); - processing said detected signals M (d1, d2, d3, d4 ...) in M front ends (30, 31, 32, 33 ...) for M processed signals (f1, f2, f3, f4 ... ); - sampling at N instants said N processed signals f1, f2, f3, f4 ...) in a signal processing unit (40), N being a natural number, to obtain values corresponding sample; - from the samples obtained in the previous step, create N column vectors y (1), ..., and (N), where y (n) represents, for a sampling n, a vector of column with M rows, each containing one of the M rows the sample value associated with the corresponding receiving element (1, 2, 3, 4 ...) at said sampling instant n; - from the collection of N column vectors y (1), ..., and (N), calculating a spatial correlation matrix sample, - obtain all eignevectores ek where K = 1 ... M, and all the eigenvalues of the spatial correlation matrix sample; the method being characterized further comprising the steps of: - from all eigenvectors ek and all eigen values obtained in the previous step, obtaining a set of parameters dependent μK where K = 1 ... M signal; - from the eigenvalues and μK dependent signal parameters obtained previously, build a set of weights; - find K solutions from a cost function comprising said set of weights, in which they said solutions are either local minimum or local maximum of said cost function, thereby determining such local minimum K or local maxima produced in directions respective arrival θ of said at least one radio waveform (wa).
