A composition for use in a method for inhibiting the in vivo growth of a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, which comprises an effective amount of at least one strain of lactic acid bacteria selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus acidophilus I-1492, Lactobacillus casei and a mixture of these and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
