Procedure for the separation and discharge of water contained in liquid fuels, in particular of diesel water, in which the fuel is transported in a conduction system (3, 9, 13), which serves to feed a combustion engine internal, through a fuel transport pump (12), in which the water is separated in a filter arrangement (5), which has a collecting space (27) for the accumulation of separate water and which is arranged in front on the suction side (11) of the fuel transport pump (12), so that its suction action counteracts a discharge of water from the collecting space (27), in which, depending on the accumulation of a predetermined quantity of water, the suction action of the transport pump (12) is interrupted and a discharge valve is opened, which is located in a discharge orifice (37) of the collecting space (27), for the discharge of water, in the one that the action of suction that counteracts the discharge of water is prevented through a discharge means (53), through which it is generated during a period of discharge time and during the ongoing operation of the fuel transport pump (12) in the discharge orifice (37) of the collecting space (27), a pressure gradient that allows the discharge of water, and in which the discharge means (53) has a control electronics (31), which processes the signal of a water detection installation (29), which detects the accumulation of the predetermined amount of water as well as its discharge, to calculate periods of discharge time and generate control signals for activation of the discharge medium (53) and control of the discharge valve during the calculated time periods, characterized in that the discharge means has a hydropneumatic pressure accumulator (53), whose oil side (51) is loaded with fuel through the trans pump fuel bearing (12), as well as a valve installation (55, 57), which can be activated through the control electronics (31), such that by means of the pressure cumulator (53) it is formed in the filter arrangement (5) a pressure, which generates in the discharge orifice (37) the pressure gradient that is necessary for the discharge of water.
