Procedure continuous monitoring and diagnosis of Partial Discharge (PD) in high voltage cables for connection and operation in the network, and physical system for the implementation of the procedure.; a method specifically designed to detect events associated to partial discharges (PDs) in high-voltage cables, with site identification, assessment of the amplitude and repetition rate per period of the mains voltage, with possibility of identifying different production sources described DPs signals depending on its location, and recognize the type of defect associated with the PDs located on the same site, performing a measurement of the generated electrical signals and discrimination against background noise. A feedback system is also described in practicing the method comprising means for discriminating the noise regarding the transient waveform of the PD, determine parameters associated therewith, to determine the map of sources of PDs along the cable, represent graphically these sources, and identify patterns DPs sources separated according to their location along the cable.
