A method of transmitting energy and provision or supply of digital communications for a vehicle (110), the method comprising the steps of: communicatively coupling a first device (116) interface comprising an interface unit broadband on line energy "BPL" to an electrical conductor or power (108) of a power cable, wherein the power cable is an electrical umbilical (102) vehicle further comprising a feed end (104) and a male end (106) the electrical conductor or power (108) extending therebetween, the male end configured to engage or mate with a vehicle (110) through the electrical conductor or energy (108) from the feed end being said ( 104); electrically coupling the first device (116) interface to the power supply (104) and the access point (120) network and communicatively couple unit BPL interface to access point network, the first device (116) being said interface, configured to: transmit and receive data carrying signals through the electrical conductor or power (108) while the power is provided to the vehicle (110) through the electrical conductor or power (108); and convert the data carrier signals from and to a predetermined data format on the network (118); electrically coupling the electrical conductor or power (108) to a receptacle (126) vehicle energy; electrically coupling a second interface device (124) to the male end (106) when the umbilical (102) is attached to the vehicle (110), said second device (124) interface configured to transmit and receive signals carrying data being the first interface device (116) while power is supplied to the aircraft (110) through the electrical conductor or power (108); and transmitting network data between the network (118) and vehicle (110) through the electrical conductor or power (108) while simultaneously providing power to the vehicle (110) through the electrical conductor or energy 108 in wherein transmitting network data between the network (118) and vehicle (110) comprises transmitting network data between the network (118) and vehicle (110) while the vehicle is stationary.
