The invention provides a porous scaffold for tissueengineering which allows easy cell engraftment and cellculture and thus enables stable organization and anartificial blood vessel which exhibits high patency rateeven if the inner diameter is small. The scaffold fortissue engineering is made of thermoplastic resin whichforms a porous three-dimensional network structure havingcommunication property, wherein the porousthree-dimensional network structure has an average porediameter of from 100 to 650µm and an apparent density offrom 0.01 to 0.5 g/cm3. The artificial blood vessel iscomposed of this scaffold.The invention provides a cuff which allows easyinfiltration of cells from living subcutaneous tissues,easy engraftment of cells, and neovascularization ofcapillary vessels so as to obtain robust bonding withsubcutaneous tissues and, as a result, ensures separationof a wounded portion from the outside, thereby blockingexacerbation factors such as bacterial infection onhealing and inhibiting progression of downgrowth. That is,the invention provides a cuff with none or littleinfection trouble such as tunnel infection. The cuffcomprises a porous three-dimensional network structurewhich is made of thermoplastic resin or thermosettingresin and has communication property, wherein the porousthree-dimensional network structure has an average porediameter of from 100 to 1000µm and apparent density offrom 0.01 to 0.5g/cm3.The invention provides a biological implantcovering member which allows easy infiltration of cellsfrom living subcutaneous tissues, easy engraftment ofcells, and organization, thereby obtaining robust bondingwith native tissues and therefore protecting a livingbody from adverse effect which may occur due to theinsertion of a biological implantation member into theliving body.
