USE OF IRL-1620 AND PACLITAXEL FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING BREAST TUMORS

The present specification discloses uses of a therapeutically effectiveamount of an IRL-1620 and a therapeutically effective amount of a paclitaxelfortreating a breast tumor in a mammal. Such uses comprise the administration oftheIRL-1620 prior to the administration of the paclitaxel in order selectivelyincreasesblood supply to the breast tumor and thus increase the delivery of thepaclitaxel to thebreast tumor. The present specification also discloses articles of manufacturecomprising a container including a packaged composition comprising an IRL-1620, apackaged composition comprising a paclitaxel, and an insert providinginstructions forsequential administration of IRL-1620 prior to paclitaxel in order to treat abreasttumor in a mammal. The present specification further discloses a combinationcomposition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of an IRL-1620 and atherapeutically effective amount of a paclitaxel for treating a breast tumorin amammal, wherein administration of the IRL-1620 is prior to the administrationof thepaclitaxel in order selectively increases blood supply to the breast tumor andthusincrease the delivery of the paclitaxel to the breast tumor.
