The aim of the invention is to produce a flame-resistant veneer or compositematerial having different core materials (4) without adding salts or othercommercial fire-retardant materials. To this end, liquid is drawn out from thepores of the veneer (1) by heat treatment and is replaced by resin, and theveneer is, if required, subsequently subjected to a refining process.
