A tank (300) for storing gas is provided with a dye capsulelayer (16) including capsules containing dye or with an impactrecording layer formed on the outer surface of the tank body (10) .The impact recording layer has, for example, a hear-insulatingmaterial layer (14) formed on the outer surface of the tank body(10), having a heat-insulating function, and capable of holdingdeformation, a dye capsule layer (16) formed on the outer surfaceof the heat-insulating layer and including capsules containingdye, and a dye absorbing layer (18) formed on the outer surfaceof the dye capsule layer (16) and capable of absorbing dye. Byan impact, the dye released from the dye capsule layer (16) isabsorbed into a dye absorbing layer (18) of the tank. The dyeexudes on the surface of the dye absorbing layer (18) and spreads.The degree of impact given to the tank (300) is estimated fromthe degree of spread of the dye or the degree of density of thedye.
