STARTER COURSE FOR EXTERIOR INSULATION PANELS

The present invention provides for a starter course for anexterior insulation panel application. The starter coursehas an outer surface, an inner surface, a lower edge, anupper edge and side edges. The outer surface is generallyplanar. The inner surface is provided with raisedstructures to provide drainage channels there between, theraised structures being provided over at least the upperhalf of the inner surface of the starter course. Theraised structures extend across the starter course from oneside edge to the other and from the upper edge to at leasthalf way to the lower edge. The portion of the innersurface from the lower edge upwardly to about half way tothe upper edge is free of the raised structures.
