The invention relates to a mechanical assembly for a fuse wire circuit breaker device provided with a fuse holder and an operating lever adapted to be actuated by an operator and actuate a sectioning lever for the fuse wire. According to the invention, the direction of pivoting of the operating lever is opposite to that of the pivoting of the fuse holder tube and the mounting of the parts leaves the area near the open lower end of the fuse holder tube sufficiently clear in order to allow escape the gases from a cut in the fuse wire without disturbing their flow. One thus obtains safety in maneuvering and operating a circuit breaker device with a fusible wire. The invention also relates to a method for renovating an existing fuse-wire circuit breaker device.
