The invention provides a method of making athree-dimensional fiber preform for fabricating an annular partout of carbon-carbon composite material, the methodconsisting in stacking layers of a fiber sheet made up ofcarbon yarns or tows and in needling the layers one byone as they are superposed so as to bond them together,and in locally modifying the electromagnetic propertiesof the fiber preform by increasing the fiber density ofthe layers of the fiber sheet that are situated athalf-thickness of the fiber preform.
