A system for measuring unwarranted healthcare service variations includingthe process of accessing patient data associated with a patient population,applying a predictive model to the patient data to determine the number of timesthat a healthcare measure is expected to occur, accessing the patient data todetermine the number of times that the healthcare measure occurred, and comparingthe number of times that the measure occurred with the number of time that the measurewas expected to occur to identify the unwarranted healthcare service variation.
