The present inventions relate to compositions and methods for providing stresstolerant transgenic plants comprising a RING domain zinc-finger motif transcriptionfactor protein. More particularly, the invention relates to compositions andmethods comprising a RING-H2 domain transcription factor protein for providingdrought and salt tolerant plants, in particular comprising a recombinant XERICOgene and protein.
