The invention is directed to a process for the preparation of a cobalt-zinc oxideFischer-Tropsch catalyst, which process comprises providing an aqueous dispersionof zinc oxide powder in a reactor, adding an aqueous solution of a cobalt salt andprecipitating cobalt from the solution onto the zinc oxide by the addition ofammonium carbonate.
