An analog and digital video monitoring fusion system and a fusion method thereof are provided by the present invention. The system comprises an analog video monitoring system, a digital video monitoring system and a digital-analog virtual matrix; the digital-analog virtual matrix is connected between the analog video monitoring system and the digital video monitoring system, which is used for implementing conversion of signaling protocols between the analog monitoring system and the digital video monitoring system, and obtaining video signals from the analog video monitoring system and transmitting to the digital video monitoring system after converting to a digital video stream, and obtaining the digital video stream from the digital video monitoring system and outputting to the analog video monitoring system after decoding. The invention realizes that the digital video monitoring system can access and control the video source of the analog video monitoring system, and meanwhile, the analog video monitoring system can also control and access the video source of the digital video monitoring system, so that two types of video monitoring systems existing together in the prior art can be in seamless butt joint; the resource sharing is realized, the resource waste caused by updating technology is avoided, and the update cost of the system is reduced.
