The embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for performing bankcard businesses, which relate to the technical field of communications and are invented for improving the success rate of the bankcard business. The method for performing bankcard businesses includes: step 101, receiving a voice service call request of a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, wherein the voice service call request carries a POS server access code (1); step 102, determining that the service corresponding to the voice service call is a bankcard business according to the POS server access code carried by the voice service call request (2); step 103, establishing a data service channel between the POS terminal and the POS server corresponding to the POS server access code, so as to enable the POS terminal and the POS server to perform the bankcard businesses through the data service channel (3). The present invention can be used in the bankcard consumption technology.
